“Micro Development” is a microfinance focused institution that serves the financial needs of small scale entrepreneurs and other people in need as well as provides none-financial consultancy and support services with the aim to offer chances to improve socio-economic- living standards of economically active and poor people in Serbia.
Micro Development, along with its staff, is one of the most experienced microfinance institution in Serbia, with more than 10 years of microfinance operation history. Since 2009 MD as successor continued microfinance operations of Micro Development Fund, which, had previously represented a spun off from the international organization Danish Refugee Council (2001 to 2004)
Our aim is to offer sustainable access to the financial services to people who have limited or do not have it at the formal financial institutions.
“Micro Development” micro finance services contribute to self-employment and job creation – one of the key elements for economic empowerment in Serbia.

“Micro Development”, in cooperation with the local bank, operates in the area of 14 municipalities of Central and South Serbia.
We could be proud of participating in creating the new SPM policies, following and learning the best practices of microfinance worldwide.
In 2002, we received certificate for being active member in Microfinance Center for CEE.
In 2007, a certificate for being the learning organization, contributing to enhancing the quality and success of poverty reduction through deliberately delivered microfinance was received by the Microfinance Center for CEE.
In 2009, 2010 as well as year 2011, we received Award Certificate for reporting to social indicators to Mix provided by the CGAP, Michael & Susan Dell Foundation and Ford Foundation.
